The 25th annual MEDICI Exhibition is on display through Nov. 15 in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln's Eisentrager-Howard Gallery in Richards Hall, at Stadium Drive and T streets, culminating in the annual fundraiser Nov. 15 from 6:30-9 p.m.
The exhibition allows the public to preview all of the works that will be for sale during the ticketed event at retail prices and those that can be purchased in the event’s silent auction. Art by Nebraska-educated and supporting artists will be sold to purchase new equipment and improve facilities in UNL's School of Art, Art History & Design.
MEDICI is a friends group that supports the School of Art, Art History & Design. Since its inception 25 years ago, MEDICI has raised more than $260,000 for the school, which has been used to bring visiting scholars to the campus and to purchase kilns, presses, paper-making equipment and other amenities that contribute to first-rate art educational offerings for students.
The works can be seen during gallery hours or at the exhibition’s First Friday opening reception later that evening from 5-7 p.m. Admission to the gallery during general hours and on First Friday is free and open to the public. Artwork can only be purchased at the ticketed event Nov. 15.
The Nov. 15 fundraiser in the gallery will include a silent art auction and sale. All silent auction items will have a starting bid of $100, and all works for sale will be priced at their retail value.
Tickets are $50 per person and can be purchased the night of the event or in advance from the School of Art, Art History & Design office in 120 Richards Hall or call 402-472-5522. Tickets are also available online at squareup.com/store/medici/.
The ticket price includes free drinks by Meier’s Cork and Bottle, and appetizers and desserts catered by Yes Chef.
Gallery hours for the exhibition are Monday-Friday, 12:30-4:30 p.m., on the first floor of Richards Hall. For more details on the event, visit go.unl.edu/r3nb.
