The TADA Theater is one of the first theaters in the U.S. to be granted the rights for the newest version of the musical "CHESS The Rock Opera," which will feature Lincoln native Con O'Shea-Creal returning in the role of chess champion Anatoly Sergievsky, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 14.
TADA will redesign part of the theater to accommodate the full orchestra that will accompany the production.
With music by ABBA’s Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus and lyrics by Tim Rice ("Evita," "Jesus Christ Superstar," "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat"), CHESS tells a story of love and political intrigue, set against the background of the Cold War in the late 1970s-early 1980s, in which superpowers attempt to manipulate an international chess championship for political ends.
Directed by Robert D. Rook, CHESS will be on stage at the TADA Theater, 701 P St., Feb. 14-24 at 7:30 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 2 p.m. Sundays. Reservations are encouraged at tadatheatre.info or call 402-438-TADA (8232). Tickets start at $20.
The TADA Theater also offers V.I.P. reserved parking on show dates in the West Depot parking lot for patrons. For details, contact The TADA Theater box office.
