The time in talking, studying and confidence-building is well spent when it comes to dance.
Dance of all types and for all ages is a source of joy and celebration for the students at the Pas De Deux School of Dance.
"We offer every kind of dance -- from ballet to hip hop," said Pas De Deux co-owner Tricia Aldag. There are classes for lyrical, tap, jazz and point dance as well led by Aldag and co-owner Jamie Tesch and their six instructors.
"We grew up in the Karen McWilliams School of Dance and kept dancing, teaching, and now we're running the school," said Aldag, a member of the Lincoln City Ballet Company, Lincoln Midwest Ballet Company and the Omaha Ballet Company, as well as a member of the University of Nebraska Scarlets.
"We have a family here to help beginners, advanced students and everybody in between," Aldag said. "Everybody supports our dancers from moms and dads to friends and relatives.
"When you see our dancers light up at a recital (such as the near sellout at the Lied Center recently), you can see the joy in the audience as well."
Pas De Deux offers a place of growing, too.
"You leave your troubles at the door and get to be yourself when you come here," Aldag said. "We teach the little ones listening skills and the basics of dance. We work for strength and flexibility and coordination with everybody here."
