Lincoln Friends of Chamber Music is bringing the Catalyst String Quartet to Lincoln. On their first return to Lincoln since 2014, the quartet will appear at two venues. First, they will reach out to the community at a free mini-concert at The BAY Skateboard Park, 2005 Y St., Wednesday, Sept. 5 at 7 p.m.
Their main concert will be Thursday, Sept. 6 at 7 p.m. at the Bourbon Theater, 1415 O St. They will present selections from their “Hemispheres: South America” program, featuring works of Villa-Lobos, Vega, Piazzolla and Ginastera. Doors and bar open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $15 for general admission and $5 for students and are available in advance from the Lied Center Ticket Office, 402-472-4747, liedcenter.org/events or at the door. Having performed at Carnegie Hall and the Kennedy Center, the Catalyst Quartet also accompanied 2018 Jazz Vocalist Grammy winner Cécile McLorin Salvant on six tracks of her winning album “Dreams and Daggers.”
