Larry The Cable Guy

Larry the Cable Guy performs at Pinnacle Bank Arena on March 31, 2017. He'll return March 27 for a show with '70s rockers Styx.

Larry the Cable Guy and Styx will pair up for a Pinnacle Bank Arena show tagged “Laugh, Rock, Seriously” on March 27.

The local arena stop is one of a handful of dates that will bring together the Lincoln-based “Git-R-Done” comedian and the '70s rock band for their first shows together.

“We ran into Larry the Cable Guy at a convenience store in Sarasota, Florida, many moons ago,” Styx guitarist Tommy Shaw said in the release announcing the show. “Now we’re pairing up for a fun night of music and comedy, something we could all use a big dose of.”

Larry the Cable Guy, real name Dan Whitney, last appeared at his hometown arena in March 2017, sharing a bill with his comedy pal Jeff Foxworthy.

Styx, a summer perennial at fairs and outdoor venues, last played Lincoln at Pinewood Bowl in June 2017. Styx also played the Pioneers Park amphitheater in 2013 and 2015.

Tickets for the Pinnacle Bank Arena show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday. Tickets start at $39.50 and will be available at the arena box office, and by phone at 800-745-3000.

Kenny Chesney tickets on sale Dec. 7

Tickets for Kenny Chesney's

May 18 Pinnacle Bank Arena concert will go on sale at 10 a.m. Dec. 7.

Chesney's return to PBA, which was announced a few weeks ago, is part of his 19-date "Songs for the Saints" tour that brings the country superstar from stadiums back to arenas.

“To me, making the rooms a little smaller, coming to where the fans live, we’re changing the dynamic – and I think it’s going to be pretty cool," Chesney said in the release announcing the tour. " It’s a lot of people’s hometowns, and that’s always awesome energy.”

Tickets for Chesney's show are $49 to $129 and will be available at the arena ticket office, and by phone at (800) 745-3000.
