Jazz singer Giacomo Gates will return to Lincoln on Friday for a show at the Boiler Grand Hall.

Connecticut-based Gates, who has collaborated with the Nebraska Jazz Orchestra in the past, will deliver an entertaining show filled with humor, stories about the composers and introductions that make the performance a lesson in jazz history.

Gates, who once told the Journal Star that he loves to sing standards, will be backed by pianist Tom Larson and Hans Sturm on bass.

Show time is 8 p.m. at the Boiler Grand Hall, located on the third floor of the Grand Manse, 129 N. 10th St. Enter through the northeast doors, go through the second set of double doors and take the elevator to the third floor to reach the venue.

Tickets for the show are $25 and are available at eventbrite.com and at the door.
