CREED II. Adonis Creed fights Ivan Drago's son in this sequel to "Creed" and the "Rocky" movies that sticks strictly to the formula, which is evident in the first five minutes. PG-13. (Grand, Edgewood, SouthPointe) Grade: C+

DR. SEUSS'S THE GRINCH. It's unclear why yet another remake of the classic children's book — this time starring Benedict Cumberbatch in the title role, with Pharrell Williams narrating — needed to happen. PG. (Grand, East Park, Edgewood, SouthPointe) Grade: D

FANTASTIC BEASTS: THE CRIMES OF GRINDELWALD. The second film in the Harry Potter adjacent series is, despite a fine cast and special effects, a shrug-inducing yawner that feels like the last film in a series not number two. PG-13. (Grand, East Park, Edgewood and SouthPointe). Grade: C

INSTANT FAMILY. This flawed, but well-intentioned comedy about a couple who take in three siblings in foster care ultimately hits the sweet spot between hilarious and heartwarming. PG-13. Grand, East Park, Edgewood) Grade: C+

RALPH BREAKS THE INTERNET. Wreck-It Ralph becomes a viral sensation in this animated sequel that's fresh, smart, funny and a comprehensible analysis of both internet culture and the complexities of interpersonal relationships. A STAR IS BORN. Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga star in this Cooper-directed reworking of the tragic show business love story. R. (Grand). Grade: A

WIDOWS. Director McQueen's reworking of a British TV series, this film about widows doing big money heists and the crunching of political gears is an examination of the ugly machinations of power, money and patriarchy. R. (Edgewood). Grade: B+
