Spring has sprung, and it was celebrated in style May 4 at Faith Lutheran Church, 8701 Adams St. Ideal Health Lincoln and Faith Lutheran’s Lutheran Women’s Missionary League (LWML) co-sponsored Celebrate Spring in Style, a mother/daughter style show and luncheon fundraiser benefiting Lincoln Community Response.

LCR is a local collaborative, facilitated by United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County, that supports families to prevent child neglect.

A nearly sold-out audience listened as Rachael Surmick, United Way director of Community Impact and local coordinator for Community Response, shared the mission of Lincoln Community Response and how it impacts families in the Lincoln area.

ChefauChef catered a delicious “Ideal Protein” lunch, serving herb-roasted chicken, salad and dessert. Stratum Productions provided a photo booth capturing whimsical images and fun memories, and the gorgeous table centerpieces created by Robyn Beaver were given as door prizes to winners of the “What’s in My Purse” game.

Style show highlights spring fashions from 3 boutiques

The main entertainment of the event was a style show spotlighting this season’s spring fashions from three Lincoln boutiques: Beká Boutique, Blu Velvet Boutique and Circle Me Children’s Boutique, and included beautiful jewelry created by Lincoln artist Lynette Fast.

Mrs. Nebraska titleholders Deb Badeer-1984, Terri Krolikowski-1988, Debbie Anstine-1998, Sherri Ellsworth-2002 and Kandis Schraeder-2013, along with their daughters and granddaughters, graced the runway modeling a wide array of fashions varying from casual to dressy. Crowns were the underlying theme, reminding us to celebrate that we are all daughters of the king, our lord and savior Jesus Christ.
