June 29 – Bites, Bikes and Bison

This second annual fundraising event for the Pioneers Park Nature Center begins with check-in at 9:30 a.m. and includes three bike routes, some of which stop at White Elm Brewing Co. for discounted drink specials. At the Nature Center, cyclists will find food vendors, a yoga session, yard games, activities for kids and hayrack rides to view the bison. July 13 – WingFest benefit

Second annual WingFest, brought to you by United Way’s Emerging Leaders United group, will take place from 5-8 p.m. at the Railyard. This event will benefit creative learning spaces (outdoor classrooms) for United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County’s “Engage.Empower.Graduate.” funded schools. A ticket gets you entry into the event and 14 wings. After sampling all of the wings, you can vote for your favorite to be crowned Lincoln’s Best Wing. Tickets are $25 per person. July 13 and Aug. 10 – Brews at the Zoo

This event for adults age 21 and over offers tasty local craft beers, live music and, of course, the animals from 6 p.m.-11 p.m. both days at Lincoln Children’s Zoo, 1222 S. 27th St. Includes live music by Flannel Channel (July 13) and AM/FM (Aug. 10) and craft beers from Empyrean, Zipline, Lucky Bucket and other area breweries. July 14 – Nebraska Football Road Race

Nebraska Football, in conjunction with The Lincoln Track Club, will host the seventh annual Nebraska Football Road Race on the Stadium Drive loop outside Memorial Stadium. All proceeds will benefit pediatric brain cancer research at The Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. There will be a 1-mile fun run that begins at 8 a.m. and a 5K run to follow with an estimated start time of 8:35 a.m. The cost is $25 for the mile fun run and $30 for the 5K. The first 1,000 registrants will also be invited to watch an exclusive pre-season Nebraska football scrimmage in Memorial Stadium. Participants can register at huskers.com/roadrace.

July 20 – A Warmer Day "Back to the ‘80s" summer fundraiser

A Warmer Day’s third annual summer fundraiser, “Back to the ‘80s,” will take place from 8 p.m. to midnight and will feature local band AM/FM at the Fundamental Athletic Academy, 8400 Cody Dr. The party includes appetizers, live music, signature ‘80s cocktails, cash bar, dancing, raffle, prizes, live auction and surprises throughout the evening. All benefits go to support A Warmer Day, which provides coats and other winter apparel to underprivileged children and families in Nebraska. More details/tickets: awarmerday.org or 402-480-7463.
