March 29 – ‘Wine! Chocolate! Tango!’

This benefit for El Centro de las Americas will feature three handcrafted courses of chocolate paired with three courses of Latino wines and tango performances, 7 p.m., Cornhusker Marriott Hotel, 333 S. 13th St. El Centro is a nonprofit that has provided education, family support, health and other services and programs to the Latino community of Lincoln for over 35 years. April 7 – Star City BaconFest

Chefs from 28 popular area restaurants will cook up creative bacon-infused samples of everything from sweet to savory at the Cornhusker Marriott Hotel. Doors open at 4:30 p.m., with bacon sampling continuing until 7 p.m. Entertainment will be provided throughout the evening by Screamers Dining and Cabaret. The event is sponsored again this year by the Nebraska Restaurant Association and the Nebrasksa Pork Producers Association. Proceeds go toward scholarships for Nebraska culinary students. April 11 – ‘Cheers to Spring’ Luncheon and Fashion Show

The Lincoln Community Playhouse Guild’s spring fundraiser, “Cheers to Spring,” will include an 11 a.m. social and 11:30 a.m. luncheon and program at the Country Club of Lincoln, 3200 S. 24th St. Fashions will be presented by Chico’s. April 12 – Rx for Hope Crystal Gala for Clinic with a Heart

Join Clinic with a Heart in celebrating 15 years of serving Lincoln at the Rx for Hope Crystal Gala at Embassy Suites, 10th and P streets. The gala begins at 5 p.m. with registration, a silent auction and hors d’oeuvres, followed at 6:30 p.m. with a dinner, program, live auction and raffle. Formal/cocktail attire suggested. April 16 – Lincoln Literacy’s Global Cabaret

This fundraising evening of international food, drink and entertainment will feature cuisine from Peru, Morocco, Korea and other parts of the world, and performances reflecting the cultures of Mexico, Sudan and Malaysia, from 5:30-8 p.m. at Suite One Eleven, 6891 A St. , Suite 111. April 26 – 70th Anniversary Gourmet Comfort Classic

The 70th Anniversary Gourmet Comfort Classic will feature some of the area’s top chefs, who will donate food and time as they compete to create the finest gourmet version of a classic comfort food, from 6-9 p.m. at the Scottish Rite Ballroom, 332 Centennial Mall South. The event includes a program, silent auction and live music. Proceeds benefit HopeSpoke, whose mission is to inspire healthy futures for children and families through behavioral and mental health services. During the program, HopeSpoke will recognize the Juior League of Lincoln and the United Way of Lincoln and Lancaster County for their help in founding the agency in 1949.
