While the weather shows no sign of it, the calendar says spring will be here soon. That means golf will soon become a reality, and certainly a welcome one.

The Lincoln Women's Municipal Golf Association (LWMGA) invites interested women to a Spring Brunch on Saturday, March 30, at Highlands Golf Course. Registration is at 8:30 a.m., brunch will be served at 8:45 a.m. and the business meeting begins at 9 a.m.

Those who qualify for membership include any woman 19 or over who resides in Lincoln, or within 45 miles of the main U.S. Post Office at 700 R St., or who is employed at a business with a Lincoln address.

Benefits of membership include:

• Access to daily reserved tee times at the city golf courses (Holmes, Mahoney, Highlands and Pioneers). Tee times include morning and evening times where you can choose to play nine or 18 holes. There is no need to confirm whether you are coming or not. You can simply come and play when it works for you. Weekend play is also available.

• Meeting and playing golf with a diverse group of enthusiastic women of all golfing skills and abilities who all have the love of golf in common.

• Opportunities to play in monthly fun events, to play in a match-play competition and to compete in a club championship.

• GHIN handicap service to establish and maintain a handicap.

For more information on becoming a member, signing up to attend the brunch and/or to learn more about LWMGA, visit LWMGA.tripod.com or contact membership chair Mary Ann Frye at lwmgaevents@gmail.com.
