Haymarket in White Dinner and Dance lit up the Haymarket and Pinnacle Bank Arena Aug. 4.
It was a perfect night to celebrate love of the Haymarket and Lincoln at this community event sponsored by the Lincoln Haymarket Development Corp. (LHDC). Guests dressed all in white, enjoyed the signature cocktail on the Capitol Terrace, dined on gourmet picnic fare and danced the night away.
And sparklers were a fun part of the dance.
With dinners in white originating in France, “love” and “Paris” were the themes of the evening. French author Lawrence DeVilliers shared the story of the “Diner en Blanc” origin. Lisa Larsen and the High Heel Band performed live music. Carol Turner from KFOR Radio and Shelby Fenster from 10/11 News emceed the event. Diane Cunningham, LHDC events chair, and Jeff Cunningham, LHDC executive director, organized the event.
Adding to the evening’s excitement were seven raffle prize drawings including a French dinner package from The Normandy; a Haymarket Date Night from Courtyard Marriott, Hopcat and The Other Room; a Romance package from Rodizio Grill and Hilton Garden Inn; a Golf package from Hidden Valley Golf Course and Which Wich Sandwiches; a wine tasting package from James Arthur Vineyards; a Stars Hockey Skybox package from Ayars & Ayars; and a wine basket from Project Control.
