Casino Royale next Friday

Heartland Cancer Foundation will raise money to help local cancer patients at its third annual Mardi Gras Casino Royale on Friday evening, Feb. 9 at Wilderness Ridge in southwest Lincoln.

In the past, the event has been attended by 300-plus area business leaders, physicians, and philanthropists. This year, activities from 7 to 10 p.m. will include live jazz music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, casino gaming tables, cash bar, and silent auction.

VIP after-party

From 10:30 to 11:30 p.m., the VIP after-party begins, featuring the local band Thirty Second Hangover, light hors d’oeuvres, socializing with special guests, gaming tables, and a chef’s dessert presentation.

Event-only tickets are $100 each; event + after-party tickets are $125. Sponsorships are available and include tickets and logo recognition on banners and materials. Tickets and sponsorships may be purchased at, or by calling the Foundation office at (402) 261-9974. Space is limited; early reservations are encouraged.

Your dollars at work

Heartland Cancer Foundation supports local cancer patients by providing gas cards, house payments, car payments, medical supplies, and assistance with medical expenses. “Many cancer patients in Lincoln and surrounding counties have no health insurance, or are underinsured. They must choose between paying for food, heat, and gasoline, and paying for necessary cancer care and medications,” said Heidi Moyer, Heartland Cancer Foundation development director.
