The beautiful historic Bess Streeter Aldrich House and Gardens in Elmwood, Nebraska, will be the setting for a Mother-Daughter Tea Party and Period Fashion Show on Sunday, May 19, at 2 p.m. Aldrich Foundation members (mothers and daughters) will model clothing from 1890 to present day with reference being made to period pieces that fit characters in Mrs. Aldrich’s books. The Plattsmouth Conservatory will supply the period pieces.
Following the style show, visitors are invited to tour the Aldrich House exhibit, which also has clothing from 1890 to present day. Finally, guests can conclude their afternoon with tea and delicious sweet and savory treats in the beautiful Aldrich Gardens (in case of rain, the event will be held at the nearby Elmwood Christian Church).
Tickets are $10, and preregistration is preferred. Contact the executive director at 402-867-4233 or email email@example.com to reserve your ticket.
