Nebraska Crossing Outlets has landed a whale — both literally and figuratively.

The outlet mall near Gretna has announced that upscale trendy clothing brand Vineyard Vines will open a shop there July 1.

“Since grand opening, Vineyard Vines has been a target brand for both ownership and the 500,000 customers that have downloaded and regularly access the Nebraska Crossing shopping app,” Johanna Boston, chief marketing officer of Nebraska Crossing Outlets, said in a news release. “We are now within 3 or 4 new tenants of fulfilling our ambitious goal of bringing the best and top brands in the country to Nebraska.”

Vineyard Vines will sell men’s, women’s and children’s clothing in its 2,200-square-foot space at the outlet mall. It will be the first store in Nebraska for the company, which only has about 120 of its own stores. The closest one to the area is in Kansas City, Missouri.

The brand, which is known for its whale logo, sells business casual and leisure wear. The company was founded in Martha’s Vineyard in 1998 by two brothers.
