Edward Jones continued its string of top rankings as a Best Place to Work in Lincoln, while two other companies won for the first time.

Edward Jones was named the Best Workplace in Lincoln for 2018 for medium-sized employers (those with 51-125 employees). It was the financial firm's fifth-straight win.

Olsson Associates won the award for the large employer category (126 employees or more), its first-ever win. Marketing firm KidGlov also won its first award as the top workplace in the small-business category.

This is the sixth year that Omaha company Quantum Workplace has administered its employee engagement survey in Lincoln to measure corporate culture and to help pinpoint the best workplaces. The effort is put together annually by three organizations -- Woods & Aitken, Lincoln Journal Star and the Lincoln Human Resource Management Association.

The winners, as well as four other top workplaces in each category, were honored Thursday at a luncheon at The Cornhusker Marriott Hotel.

Edward Jones also received the “Sustained Excellence Award,” which is given to organizations that have won first place in the contest for five years. The Community Impact Award, which honors companies that go above and beyond when it comes to volunteer work and charitable donations, was awarded to marketing company Firespring.

The Journal Star on Sunday will publish a supplement describing the competition and the finalists.
