Cabela's

Wildlife displays are situated throughout the Lincoln building that houses Cabela's customer care center and its World's Foremost Bank. The Lincoln operation employs over 500 people.

A new suitor has emerged to potentially buy Cabela's World's Foremost Bank that's based in Lincoln.

Dow Jones, citing unnamed sources, said Synovus Financial is interested in buying the bank. According to the report, it would buy the bank, keep the deposits and sell the credit card portfolio to Capital One.

Capital One had originally agreed to buy the bank for more than $200 million as part of the $4.5 billion purchase of Cabela's by Bass Pro Shops, which was announced in October.

However, Capital One ran into a snag with regulators, and said earlier this year that it did not believe it could get regulatory approval for the purchase by the Oct. 3 deadline set in the agreement.

Cabela's employs several hundred people in Lincoln, most of who work for the bank.
