Nebraska's two Red Dirt Running Company locations will become franchised locations of a national chain May 1.
Lori Borer, owner of the Red Dirt location in Lincoln, is buying the one in Omaha and will convert both to franchised locations of Fleet Feet Sports as of May 1.
North Carolina-based Fleet Feet Sports is the nation's largest franchisor of independently owned and operated running stores, with 165 locations in 38 states and the District of Columbia.
Borer, who opened the Lincoln Red Dirt location at 77th Street and Pioneers Boulevard in 2014, said becoming part of the Fleet Feet brand will "amplify" what the two stores can offer.
“By becoming a part of Fleet Feet Sports, and all of the support, resources, and programs that come along with that, we’ll continue to impact the experience for our customers and our communities in even more meaningful and robust ways,” she said in a news release.
