New OMALiNK owner

Cory Althouse has sold his steam-cleaning business so that he can focus full-time on running OmaLiNK.

The owner of OmaLiNK has sold his other business to focus on growing the transportation company.

Cory Althouse, who bought OmaLiNK last fall and started it up again after the previous owner shut it down, said he closed Thursday on the sale of Althouse Steam Cleaning.

Althouse sold that business to Perfection Cleaning, owned by Julie Brooks. Brooks will eventually incorporate the steam-cleaning business into her company, but for now, contact information will remain the same, he  said.

Althouse said OmaLiNK is doing well, even though it has faced increased competition from Leisure Limousine & Sedan, which received permission from state regulators in March to start operating a shuttle service from Lincoln to the Omaha airport. But he has not been able to grow it the way he wants to because he hasn't been able to put his full focus on it.

He said the extra 20 to 30 hours a week he'll have available from no longer operating his steam-cleaning business will allow him to meet with more clients and do more marketing.

Althouse said he also will now have the time to apply to the Public Service Commission to expand his operating authority to shuttle people back and forth from Lincoln to Central Regional Airport in Grand Island, something that has been in his plans since he bought OmaLiNK.

"This is stuff I haven't been able to do because I don't have enough time in the day," he said.
