Olsson Associates said it has agreed to buy a Fayetteville, Arkansas-based engineering firm and expects to complete the deal next month.

Olsson Associates said Monday that it is nearing a deal to acquire an Arkansas-based engineering firm.

The Lincoln-based design and engineering company said it expects to finalize a deal to buy McGoodwin Williams & Yates of Fayetteville, Arkansas, by Jan. 15.

The Arkansas firm has 30 employees, including 11 registered professional engineers, and specializes in municipal infrastructure design, specifically for water and wastewater projects.

“Their services align with the areas we’re interested in growing at Olsson,” Brad Strittmatter, Olsson’s CEO, said in a news release. “While Olsson currently provides these services, MWY will expand our technical expertise and the communities we serve.”

MWY will become “MWY, a division of Olsson Associates” for a nearly six-month transition period. The company then will take on the Olsson Associates name on July 1.

Olsson said terms of the acquisition will not be released.
