Forbes has named Nebraska the fifth-best state for business for 2018.

Nebraska's rank declined slightly again this year in Forbes' ranking of the best states for business.

The state came in fifth, after ranking fourth in 2017 and third in 2016 and 2015.

Nebraska got high marks for its regulatory environment, ranking second, and its low cost of doing business (eighth). However, it did not rank better than 11th in any other category.

The magazine said Nebraska's average unemployment rate of 3.2 percent over the past five years was second lowest in the U.S.

North Carolina came in first on the list for the second straight year, followed by Utah, Texas and Virginia.
