For the fifth month in a row, the Lincoln Airport saw a surge in passengers.

Passenger numbers were up 17% year over year in April, helped by a continued increase for United Airlines.

The airline, which offers flights from Lincoln to Denver and Chicago, saw its passenger numbers rise 30% in April compared with a year ago, which was actually its smallest gain since January. Passenger numbers at Delta Air Lines grew 2%.

For the year, passenger numbers are up 16% compared with a year ago, with United up 31% and Delta down 1%.
