Passenger numbers were flat in July at the Lincoln Airport.

Commercial airline traffic actually rose slightly in July compared with a year ago, up about 1 percent. But a huge drop in charter traffic left overall passenger traffic down a little less than 1 percent.

Delta Air Lines had a strong month, with passenger traffic up 11 percent compared with a year ago. However, that gain was offset by a continuing decline for United Airlines, which saw its traffic drop 4 percent year over year.

For the year, Delta traffic is up 2 percent over 2017, while United's traffic is down 10 percent. Charter traffic is up 15 percent, leading to an overall passenger decline of 5 percent compared with a year ago.
