HF Crave announced this week that its new location will be on the first floor of the Square at Forty-Eight Apartments at 48th and Holdrege streets

A development at 48th and Holdrege streets has its first retail tenant.

HF Crave, a local restaurant known for its burgers made from Nebraska-raised beef, announced this week that it will reopen at Square at Forty-Eight, a five-story mixed-use building on the northeast corner of 48th and Holdrege streets.

HF Crave closed its location at 2801 Pine Lake Road in August and said it would be announcing a new location soon. But as one month grew to two, customers began getting anxious.

Owners JR and Nikke Hollenbeck said in a Facebook post Monday that they have resolved building issues that delayed their move and are currently hoping for a grand opening sometime in January.

The restaurant will be located in a retail space on the south end of the building. The Hollenbecks said the menu will be similar to the one at the Pine Lake location, with a few additions.

HF Crave is the first retail tenant in the mixed-used development, which includes four floors of apartments on top of first-floor retail.

The apartment portion of the project opened more than a year ago in September 2017, but the retail space has been empty.

The building was built on the former site of the Tastee Inn and Murphy's QP Store.
