Nebraska vs. Wisconsin, 11/15/2014

Nebraska head coach Bo Pelini paces in the snow during the third quarter on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at Camp Randall Stadium.

Not that he needs the money, but former Nebraska football coach Bo Pelini is $85,000 richer -- minus the real estate commission -- after selling his Lincoln home.

The 5,500-square-foot home in The Ridge subdivision in southwest Lincoln sold late last month for $935,000. It had been under contract since April. According to real estate records, Pelini purchased his house in 2008 for $850,000.

Pelini wasn't the only former Husker coach to sell his house in the past month.

Former Husker basketball coach Doc Sadler, who was fired in 2012, sold his Williamsburg-area home for $621,350 in late May.

The documents in the Register of Deeds online system do not make clear how much Sadler paid for the home. A trust bought the home for $785,000 in September 2006, a month after Sadler was hired. The property was transferred into his name in June 2009.

Former Nebraska defensive coordinator John Papuchis, who lost his job when Pelini was fired, also sold his house last month -- and made a tidy profit.

Papuchis, who paid $300,000 for the home in Wilderness Hills in 2011, sold it for $402,000, a more than 33 percent gain.
