The Conroy family has been baking doughnuts and other pastries for more than 60 years in Lincoln.
But that's all coming to an end later this month.
Conroy's Family Bakery announced on Facebook on Wednesday that its last day in business will be Feb. 16.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have decided not to renew the lease at our current location," the Facebook post said. "Our last day of business will be on February 16, 2019. As of now, we have decided not to reopen a new store at this time."
Tim Conroy opened the bakery at 1600 Normandy Road, near 16th and Old Cheney, in 2014.
Tim's father, Jim Conroy, started the original Conroy's Bakery in Rathbone Village in 1957 and then moved to a bigger location at 4725 Prescott Ave. a decade later, where he operated it for nearly 50 years.
That bakery closed in the summer of 2016 and Jim Conroy's wife, Grace, died a few months later.
Jim Conroy died last year at the age of 97.
"We want to thank all of our loyal customers from numerous decades for all of the patronage that you have shown our family business," the Facebook post said. "We have made many great friendships over the years with just as many great stories to go with them."
"We would also like to thank all of the employees, mothers, fathers, aunts, uncles, spouses, children, relatives and friends who have helped keep the "Open" sign on for over 60 years. It takes a lot of dedication and sacrifice for all involved to keep a small family business going, and we are so grateful for all who have helped us along the journey."
