The U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services Nebraska Service Center at 850 S St. has a new owner.

One of the buildings that houses U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services in Lincoln has been sold.

According to real estate documents filed with the county Register of Deeds office earlier this month, a company called Lincoln NE 1 FGF LLC paid $30.5 million for the 145,000-square-foot building at 850 S St.

The company is a subsidiary of Boyd Watterson Asset Management, a Cleveland, Ohio-based investment firm.

Officials from Boyd Watterson could not be reached for comment.

Several hundred federal employees and private contractors work at the building processing and adjudicating certain immigration applications and petitions.

The purchase price for the building makes it one of the largest commercial real estate transactions in recent Lincoln history.

Only the $31 million purchase of the other USCIS service center at 1301 W. Highland Blvd. in 2015 was a higher price paid for a single office building in at least the last decade.

State Farm Insurance's two buildings at its Lincoln campus near 84th and O streets were sold in 2015 for $52.3 million.
