Sandhills Publishing Binary Building

Sandhills Publishing just finished its new Binary Building at 110 W. Harvest Drive.

Sandhills Publishing has completed construction of a new IT building on the company's 68-acre main campus in northwest Lincoln.

Sandhills said the 21,000-square-foot office, known as the Binary Building, opened Monday at 110 W. Harvest Drive and is part of a larger trend of growth for Sandhills.

The company said the additional space, which will house 122 employees, accommodates a growing staff of Web, mobile and database developers, user interface designers, network administrators and other IT personnel. The company employs 630 people in Lincoln and is hiring.

The company's production building, 101 W. Grand Drive, across the street from the IT building, is still being expanded, said Nancy Paasch, chief administration officer.

Sandhills has applied for gold LEED certification for the IT building, constructed largely of recycled and reclaimed materials, by the U.S. Green Building Council. Sampson Construction was the contractor.

Like the adjacent data center, constructed in 2012, Sandhills said the design of the Binary Building includes state-of-the-art technologies that increase water and energy efficiencies using features like light harvesting and motion sensors that control plumbing and electricity. The heating and cooling system uses a closed-loop geothermal well field.

Sandhills said it has recently organized resources into a single user-friendly platform, the Sandhills Cloud, and will continue advancing new products including RentalYard, an online marketplace for rental equipment, FleetEvaluator, an asset valuation tool, and MarketTrends, a market analysis resource that serves a number of industries.

Sandhills Publishing is an information processing company headquartered in Lincoln.  Its trade publications and corresponding websites connect buyers and sellers across the trucking, agriculture, construction, heavy equipment, aviation and technology industries.

The company said it continues to seek candidates for vacant positions in database and software development, including full-time opportunities and internships.

In addition to its offices in Lincoln, Sandhills has offices in Scottsdale, Arizona, Manchester, England, Madrid, Spain and Brisbane, Australia.
