Omaha, Jan. 26, Trey Mytty, CEO of Truck Center Companies (TCC), was announced as the 2019 American Truck Dealers (ATD) Dealer of the Year, at the ATD show in San Francisco over the weekend. The honor is presented as a career achievement award that recognizes a commercial truck dealer for business performance, industry and civic leadership, and community service. Mytty was one of six finalists for the honor.
Mytty began his career with Truck Center Companies (then known as Omaha Truck Center) in 1990 while in high school. His first job responsibilities entailed cleaning the shop and washing trucks. He attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after high school graduating with a degree in Business Marketing. During his final semester at UNL, Mytty accepted a sales position with TCC in Truck Sales.
In 2007, right before the economic downturn, Mytty leveraged a buyout of the dealership and faced a challenging economy. Despite this, Truck Center Companies employment has grown 29 percent in Mytty’s first 10 years of ownership. Today, TCC has nearly 575 employees. Nearly 25 percent of TCC’s staff are military veterans or active in the Reserves or National Guard.
In January 2019, Mytty began a two-year role as the president of the Daimler Trucks North America Dealer Council.
Under Mytty’s guidance, Truck Center Companies has raised over $2.6 million for Make-A-Wish Nebraska by sponsoring an annual golf outing and other events with a goal of reaching $3 million in 2019.
