Rich Claussen, Prosper Lincoln’s ambassador for innovation and entrepreneurship, presented Spreetail team members with the Prosper Lincoln Step Up award.
Over the past two years, Spreetail has participated in Reverse Pitch events that inspire university students to explore internship and job opportunities in the tech field in Lincoln. They also partnered to host State of the Practice events, where students can get a behind-the-scenes tour of the rapidly expanding e-commerce company.
Most recently, Spreetail stepped up and sponsored the pitch competition in the Future Builders Challenge. The challenge identified high school students who had a predisposition to innovation and entrepreneurship. The pitch competition included 19 teams of 5-6 students each to address challenges for our city, as identified in the Prosper Lincoln community agenda.
Claussen describes Spreetail as a company that really cares about the tech ecosystem as well as the Lincoln community.
“Spreetail is a global force in e-commerce," Claussen says. "Yet they are always looking for ways to contribute to making Lincoln better. They seek out innovative approaches that help solve challenges differently. It’s just part of who they are, and I for one of many am grateful they call Lincoln home.”
This community-minded company also donates hundreds of mattresses a year to Lincoln families moving out of homelessness and transitioning into living spaces of their own through the New Beginnings program.
