Amy Reynoldson has been named the next executive vice president of the Nebraska Medical Association (NMA).

Ms. Reynoldson received her Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Special Education and coaching endorsement from the University of Nebraska – Lincoln.

Ms. Reynoldson’s background is diverse. After teaching in the Lincoln and Waverly schools systems for several years, she served the state of Nebraska and its citizens as a protection and safety worker and officer of juvenile services for Nebraska DHHS’ Division of Child Protective Services.

She served as a grant reviewer for the SAMSHA Drug Free Communities Support Program as well as a prevention specialist with Region V Systems Behavioral Health.

Ms. Reynoldson’s most recent role was as prescription drug overdose prevention coordinator for the Nebraska DHHS Division of Public Health. In this position, she was responsible for providing leadership and oversight for the implementation of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention grant for $1.3 million dollars annually specifically directed towards opioid prevention efforts in the state of Nebraska.

Among her many career accomplishments, Ms. Reynoldson facilitated the development and implementation of the Nebraska Pain Management Guidance Document, Prescription Drug Monitoring Program (PDMP), and naloxone education efforts.

Reynoldson brings a wide array of skills to the NMA including organizational strategic planning and implementation, collaboration with the medical community, and professional connections with entities and persons both at the local and state level. She is a proven leader in policy development and legislation implementation, grant management, strategic planning, and community collaboration.

Dale Mahlman, hired as associate executive vice president in 2002 before being promoted to executive vice president in 2007, retired from the NMA on January 4, 2019. He joined COPIC as director of marketing relations January 7, 2019.
