Perkins Restaurant and Bakery at 48th and O streets before it was torn down.
Perkins fans will be happy to know that the restaurant chain is coming back to Lincoln.
A building permit was filed this week for a new standalone Perkins Restaurant & Bakery at 7301 Husker Circle, which is right near the 27th Street exit on Interstate 80.
A company called CyHawk Hospitality, which opened a new Perkins in Omaha in July and owns more than a dozen in Nebraska, Iowa, Colorado, Kansas, Missouri and South Dakota, said at the time that it was looking to open a Perkins in Lincoln in spring 2019.

CyHawk officials could not be reached for comment about the building permit.
Two Lincoln Perkins Restaurants owned by a different franchisee closed their doors earlier this year. One at 2900 N.W. 12th St., near the Lincoln Airport, closed in January. The other one, at 48th and O streets, closed at the end of April and was torn down to make way for a new Chick-fil-A.

Clean Juice opened earlier this month at 7811 Pioneers Blvd.
Perkins - August
Perkins Restaurant and Bakery at 27th and I-80 will open in August.
Napoli's - September
Napoli's is a new Italian restaurant open at 48th Street and Nebraska 2.
Villa Amore - November
Villa Amore opened in November at 5353 N. 27th St.
Tipsy Tina's
Tipsy Tina's Taco Cantina will occupy the former Yowies' Lodge space at 800 Q St.
