Yankee Candle

Yankee Candle is closing its two Lincoln stores by the end of the month.

Yankee Candle is the latest retailer to pull up shop and leave Lincoln.

The store is closing both of its locations by the end of the month, possibly as early as Jan. 29.

Company officials could not be reached, but representatives of both SouthPointe Pavilions and Gateway Mall confirmed the stores are closing.

Yankee Candle also is closing its location in Papillion but does not appear to be doing a widespread store closing, as a check of media reports could find only one other one, in Wausau, Wisconsin.

Yankee Candle will join several retailers that either have closed or plan to close stores in Lincoln, including Toys 'R' Us, Younkers, Sears, Mattress Firm, Gap and Shopko.
