Saturday: Omaha 4, Lincoln 3, SO.

What went wrong: The Stars let the Lancers' special teams unit turn the tide Saturday at Ralston Arena in Omaha. The Lancers scored two power-play goals and added a short-handed tally to help build a 3-2 lead. Lancer forward Filip Suchy finished with three points on the night. Lincoln was able to take the Lancers into overtime to get a point in the standings, but was unable to get past Lancer net-minder Vincent Purpura in the shootout. Purpura stopped all four Stars attempts.

What went right: Casey Dornbach finished with three points, including assisting on Collin Peters' game-tying goal with just two minutes left to play in regulation. Peters has scored two nights in a row. Dominick Mersch gave Lincoln 1-0 lead 9:05 into regulation with his 11th goal of the season. Derek Schaedig stopped 27 of 30 Omaha shots.

Next: The Stars return to the Ice Box with a game against the Des Moines Buccaneers at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
