Saturday: Lincoln 5, Sioux Falls 4, OT

What went right: The Lincoln Stars used two goals from forward Paul Cotter, including the game-winner in overtime, to help the Stars complete the comeback. Trailing 3-0 after 20 minutes of play, the Stars scored four consecutive goals, starting with a short-handed goal from Dominick Mersch. Cotter later added his first of the night to cut the Stars' deficit to 3-2. After the second intermission, Lincoln scored twice first by Atte Tuliara and another goal from Casey Dornbach to take a 4-3 lead. After Tomas Vomacka was chased in net by the Stampede early in the first, goaltender Derek Schaedig stopped 10 of 11 shots in relief for the win. Ashton Calder added three assists to help lead the Stars' comeback.

What went wrong: Nolan Walker added Sioux Falls fourth goal with 31 seconds left in regulation to send the Stars into overtime for the first time this season. Lincoln came out hesitant early in the first, allowing the Stampede to strike 5:50 into the game when Adam Dawe scored his seventh of the season. Kevin Conley added a goal nearly three minutes later and Mitchell Mattson closed out Vomacka's night in net with the Stampede's third goal of the first period.

Next: The Stars return to the Ice Box on Friday to face the Fargo Force, the leaders in the Western Conference, at 7:30 p.m.
