What went right: Ashton Calder scored early in the second period to put Lincoln ahead for good, and Tomas Vomacka stopped 32 of 34 shots in Dubuque, Iowa, to help the Stars to their fifth straight win. Wyatt Aamodt gave Lincoln a 1-0 lead in the first period, with assists from Calder and Casey Dornbach. After the Saints tied the score later in the period, Calder put the Stars in front again with his 10th goal of the season. Josiah Slavin and Paul Cotter rounded out the Stars' scoring. Vomacka extended his winning streak to six games. With Sioux City's loss at Sioux Falls, the Stars are alone in sixth place, chasing the final playoff spot in the USHL's Western Conference.
What went wrong: The Stars gave up Matt Stoia's first goal of the season in the first period. Lincoln went 0-for-6 on the power play.
