SUNDAY: Lincoln 5, Sioux Falls 2.
What went right: Ashton Calder scored 43 seconds into regulation and the Stars were off and running in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Lincoln forced an early 2-on-1 as Calder knocked in his 11th of the season. Casey Dornbach picked up the assist. Tristan Ashbrook added his 15th of the season later in the period, before Josiah Slavin took over the offense. Slavin added two goals, with one in each the second and third periods, and has scored in six of the Stars' past seven games. Devlin McCabe added Lincoln's final goal late in the third period and Tomas Vomacka picked up his seventh straight win in net, stopping 26 of 28 shots faced.
What went wrong: The Stars gave up two power-play goals, both to Artem Ivanyuzhenkov. The Stampede left winger broke through in the second period, and added another in the third to help Sioux Falls finish 2-for-8 on power plays. Lincoln went 0-for-5 on the power play.
