Saturday: Muskegon 3, Lincoln 2.
What went wrong: Lincoln got dominated in the first period, giving up 19 shots in the first 20 minutes, as the Stars fell behind 2-0. After Lincoln tied the game at 2, Muskegon's Clayton Phillips scored the winner about halfway through the third period. Lincoln struggled on the power play all night, going 0-for-3. On the flip side, Lincoln gave up a power-play goal, and spent 51 minutes as a team in the penalty box. Wyatt Aamodt had 17 penalty minutes alone.
What went right: The Stars took control in the second and third periods, outshooting the Lumberjacks 23-14 in those periods. Josiah Slavin and Tristan Ashbrook both found the back of the net to tie the game in the second period. Lincoln goalie Tomas Vomacka made 30 saves, and he has racked up 67 saves in the Stars' last two contests.
