What went right: The Stars picked up where they left off from Friday's 4-2 victory over the Buccaneers at the Ice Box, drubbing the Bucs on Saturday at Buccaneer Arena in Des Moines, Iowa. Gustaf Westlund, who had an empty-netter Friday, scored just 43 seconds into the game Saturday to give Lincoln the early advantage. Tristan Ashbrook made it 2-0 nearly 2½ minutes later. Casey Dornbach finished with three points (two goals and an assist), while Stars captain Dominick Mersch added a goal and an assist. Devlin McCabe added his second goal of the season midway through the third period. Tomas Vomacka added his third win of the season in net, stopping 30 of 32 shots. In the two games against the Bucs, Lincoln outshot Des Moines 75-56 while outscoring them 10-4.

What went wrong: Des Moines was able to post two goals on Vomacka two nights in a row, but they came late in the third period.

Next: The Stars travel to Cedar Rapids on Friday.
