Saturday: Fargo 3, Lincoln 2.

What went wrong: After Lincoln gained a 1-0 lead midway through the first period with Dominick Mersch's 20th goal of the season, Fargo pushed back with three second-period goals. The Force tallied twice in the first 3 minutes, 34 seconds to gain the 2-1 lead. A.J. Drobot scored short-handed for the Force's first goal, and William Fallstrom scored nearly a minute later. After Lincoln tied the game 2-2, Jacob Schmidt-Svejstrup, Fargo's leading scorer, gave the Force the go-ahead goal 14:31 into the second frame on the power play.

What went right: Gustaf Westlund tied the game 2-2 59 seconds after Fallstrom gave Fargo its first lead of the game. Westlund's tally came on the power play; the Stars finished 1-for-5 on the man advantage. Despite the loss, Lincoln holds pat in fifth place in the Western Conference as Sioux Falls rallied past Tri-City.

Next: The Stars can potentially clinch a playoff spot Wednesday. If Sioux City loses to Waterloo on Tuesday, the Stars can clinch a berth with a victory over Des Moines on Wednesday. Game time is set for 7 p.m. at the Ice Box.
