Lincoln Stars hockey coach Chris Hartsburg is expected to be announced as coach of the Erie Otters this week, according to a report.

Mark Schieg of The Hockey Writers tweeted the news last week.

"Pending the dotting of I's and crossing of T's, the (Erie Otters) will name Chris Hartsburg their next head coach," Schieg tweeted.

Nothing has been made official, and Stars management did not want to comment Sunday.

Hartsburg does have a history with the Otters, who play in the Ontario Hockey League, serving as an assistant coach in 2013-14 before taking over as head coach of the Stars.

The Stars have improved in each of Hartsburg's three seasons.

Lincoln earned a playoff berth in his second year (33-24-3), and sported a better winning percentage last season (32-22-6) despite missing the postseason.

Hartsburg also helped Team USA capture gold in the World Junior A Challenge as an assistant coach last December.
