The Lincoln Stars wrapped up the regular season Sunday with a 5-0 win over the Tri-City Storm in Kearney.

Stars goaltender Derek Schaedig picked up his second straight shutout, stopping all 37 shots he faced. Austin Magera scored his first two goals with the Stars, after being traded to Lincoln Feb. 6 from Chicago, while Tristan Ashbrook, Logan Jenuwine and Philippe Lapointe each added a goal apiece.

The Stars lineup looked a bit different, with Wyatt Aamodt and Carter Long not paired on the same defensive line and captain Dominick Mersch sitting out of the lineup in preparation for the playoffs.

"We have to make sure we make it through this weekend healthy, fresh and energized," Stars head coach Cody Chupp said last week. "It's a short turnaround for us."

Chupp noted some guys were going to get more rest than they are accustomed to and younger guys would get some extra playing time.

"Don't get me wrong, our goal is to win every single game," Chupp added. "From that standpoint, it doesn't matter who's in the lineup, who's playing where and in what situations. We expect them to perform and to win."

Lincoln will hit the road for its best-of-three first-round Clark Cup playoff series against Sioux Falls, which starts Tuesday at 7 p.m.
