After scoring the Lincoln Stars' first goal of the season, Devlin McCabe is among the points leaders for USHL rookies through five games.

Committed to Minnesota-Duluth, McCabe has five points in five games played, and was the rookie points leader heading into last weekend's game. McCabe is currently tied for third in the league among rookies and he leads the Stars in scoring with two goals and three assists.

Scoring points is something the North Oaks, Minnesota, native is accustomed to, piling up 60 points in 24 games while serving as the captain for the St. Paul Academy in the United States High School league in 2016-17.

In four seasons in the USHS, McCabe tallied 184 points in 117 games, averaging more than 1½ points per game.

McCabe is eligible for the 2018 NHL draft in June in Dallas.

The Stars travel to Kearney on Friday to face the Tri-City Storm for the second time this season before returning to the Ice Box on Saturday to play the defending Clark Cup champion Chicago Steel.

Friday's game begins at 7:30 p.m., with Saturday's contest at 7 p.m.
