Lincoln Stars head coach Cody Chupp announced the newest addition to his staff Friday with the hiring of Chris Azzano.
Azzano will serve as the Stars' goalie coach.
The 28-year-old has spent the past three seasons as an assistant coach in the NCAA Division III ranks. Azzano served as an assistant for SUNY-Cortland the past two seasons. Before that, the Oshawa, Ontario, native was an assistant coach for SUNY-Canton for one season.
"We are excited to add Chris to our staff," Chupp said. "His experience working with goaltenders, passion for the game and ability to create strong relationships with players make him a great fit for Lincoln and our vision for the organization."
Azzano played three seasons at Division III Morrisville State and was a two-time captain as a goalie. He played one year at Wentworth Institue of Technology and played three seasons in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.
"I am very grateful to join the Lincoln Stars and want to thank Cody Chupp, Jon Hull, Chris Michael and Ryan Schiff for this amazing opportunity," Azzano said. "I cannot wait to join such a prestigious organization with an incredible fan base and a proven track record for developing players."
