What went right: Lincoln scored three runs in the fifth, four in the sixth, and two in the seventh to take control of the game. Joe Robbins had a two-RBI double in the fifth and Brandon Jacobs had one in the sixth before Brent Dean hit a two-run homer. Five Saltdogs had multi-hit games and five drove in multiple runs. Starting pitcher Bennett Parry struck out seven batters.
What went wrong: Sioux City got out to the early lead with a second-inning home run by Tyler Ogle. Eudor Garcia singled in two runs in the sixth between the big innings by Lincoln. The explorers racked up 12 hits, eight of which came against Parry.
Streaks: The win is Lincoln's third straight. The Saltdogs are 6-4 in their last 10 games.
Dog bytes: Cesar Valera and Brandon Jacobs each had two RBIs, which gives them 46 and 40 on the year, respectively.
Next: Lincoln will go for the sweep at Sioux City at 6 p.m. Sunday.
