* PERMITS AVAILABLE ON MOBILE DEVICES: You can use your mobile device to buy, access or display certain Nebraska hunting and fishing permits.

You can use your device to buy the following permits: small game hunting, fishing and resident fur harvest, along with their associated stamps.

Because Internet service is needed to access a mobile permit or the mobile site, a user should be sure to save an image of the permit on his or her device, or carry a paper copy of the permit.

For mobile access, you must first create a profile online in Game and Parks' electronic permitting system. You cannot create a mobile profile with your device.

* BIRDING DAY SCHEDULED: The Southeast District Birding Day is set for May 14 at the Nebraska Eastern Saline Wetlands in northern Lancaster County. 

Useful items for participants include binoculars, cameras, field guides, chairs, insect repellant, sunscreen, and footwear appropriate for a wetland. Lunches will be available for $5. 

The event will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the Little Salt Fork Marsh Preserve parking lot, a half-mile west of North First Street and Raymond Road. A carpool will be available from the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission's headquarters at 2200 N. 33rd St. Anyone interested in attending should contact Scott Aden at 402-471-5631 by 5 p.m. May 9. Be sure to specifying your lunch and transportation plans. 

* COMMISSION SCHEDULES FAMILY FISHING EVENTS: The Nebraska Game and Parks Commission has schedule Family Fishing Events this spring and summer.
