Lincoln native Jack Sock defeated former two-time NCAA champion Steve Johnson 6-4, 7-6 (7-4) in the semifinals of the $100,000 Tiburon Challenger pro men's tennis tournament in Tiburon, Calif., on Saturday.

The 20-year-old Sock, ranked No. 194 in the world, will play for his first Challenger title Sunday against German Mischa Zverev, who defeated American Bobby Reynolds 6-4, 6-3 in the other semifinal.

* HOCKEY: Notre Dame got a goal and assist from both Anders Lee and Peter Schneider to beat Nebraska-Omaha 3-2 in the championship game of the Ice Breaker men's college hockey tournament at Kansas City, Mo. Lee and Schneider both scored in the first period for the Fighting Irish (2-0-0). Thomas DiPaul scored what turned out to be the game winner at 12:45 of the second period. Michael Young had tied the game for the Mavericks (1-1-0) midway through the first period. Andrej Sustr pulled UNO within a goal late in the second period.

* RIFLE: Fourth-ranked Nebraska lost to Kentucky 4,666-4,643 despite shooting its best score of the year. The Huskers were led by senior Janine Dutton in air rifle (590) and junior Sunny Russell in smallbore (581). NU totaled scores of 2,336 in air rifle and 2,307 in smallbore.
