Nebraska senior Jordan Hooper was named a Women's Basketball Coaches Association first-team All-American Saturday at the NCAA Women's Final Four in Nashville.
Hooper is the third Husker to be named to the WBCA's first team. Kelsey Griffin (2010) and Karen Jennings (1993) also garnered the honor during their Husker playing careers.
"It is truly a great honor to be chosen to the WBCA First-Team All-America team," Hooper said. "I had the honor of playing with several of these players with USA Basketball at the World University Games over the summer, so I've seen what great players they are. It is a privilege to be mentioned in the same group as them."
Hooper was part of a 10-player first team that included: UConn seniors Stefanie Dolson and Bria Hartley and Huskies sophomore Breanna Stewart; Notre Dame senior Kayla McBride and sophomore Jewell Loyd; Stanford senior Chiney Ogwumike; Baylor senior Odyssey Sims; Maryland senior Alyssa Thomas; and South Carolina sophomore Tiffany Mitchell.
