NCAA Volleyball Final, Nebraska vs. Florida, 12/16/17

The Huskers celebrate in the NCAA volleyball national championship final at the Sprint Center, Kansas City, Mo., on Saturday, Dec. 16, 2017.

Most years at Thanksgiving time, Nebraska volleyball coach John Cook gets the team together and tells each player what he's thankful for about each of them.

This year Cook gave each player a copy of the book he wrote. He added a personal note about what he was thankful for, then put the book in their lockers.

Cook calls it his thankful list.

There was plenty to be thankful for this year. There are the obvious things, such as a Mikaela Foecke kill on national championship point. Then there are the less-obvious ones, such as a player making a positive connection with a recruit, or leading the cheers on the bench.

A few days after Nebraska won the national championship, Cook shared with us what he was thankful for about each player.
