The Nebraska volleyball team will continue to have a family feel for the foreseeable future.

The current team has Kadie and Amber Rolfzen.

Soon, it will be the Haggerty sisters, and the connection grew by one Saturday when Molly Haggerty gave her oral commitment to the Huskers on the first day the team was at its new venue.

Now three Haggerty sisters could play for Nebraska. Molly’s older sister, Meghan, is a sophomore middle blocker. Another sister, Maddie, committed to NU more than a year ago and will join the Huskers in 2014.

Molly is a high school sophomore from Glen Ellyn, Ill., and considered one of the top recruits in the country. The 6-foot-1 outside hitter said she chose Nebraska over Penn State and Minnesota. Her club team won a national title this summer and she played in the world championships.

During her visit Saturday, there was an envelope waiting for her in the new Nebraska locker room saying Nebraska wanted her to be a Husker. Then she told NU coach John Cook she’d be here in 2016.

“Watching Nebraska on TV, it’s always been a dream of mine,” Molly Haggerty said.
